Prevent the Summer Slide!

Start Today!
Reading can happen everywhere. You don't need to just read a book! Read recipes, magazines or go to a cool website like http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/ . They have tons of cool stuff to read and fun games to play. While you're at it practice your math facts. You can have your parents make up some math fact questions for you on a paper and then time yourself to see how quickly you can get them done. Then try and do it the next day and see how much you can improve. We promise you'll be so happy you took the time to practice.

SUMMER CONTEST!
HAVE YOU HEARD THE AMAZING NEWS? Enoch Elementary is having a contest!!! We are giving away a Mini iPad, and iPod, and a Kindle to three of our lucky students who read at least _________________ minutes over the summer. Plus we are going to post really fun things to do that will help students read along with information about how important it is to keep up on reading and math through the summer.
Some information will be for beginning readers and some will be for the older students.
So stay motivated and don't let the summer slide creep up on you!
